3M Acrylic Foam Tape 5344

3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5344 is a 1.14mm thick, gray, medium-density foam tape that offers both conformability and strength,

commonly used for bonding exterior automotive trim parts (such as body side moldings). This acrylic foam core is viscoelastic,

allowing it to stretch and release under load, significantly reducing stress on the adhesive layer.

3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5344 (PDF, 175.6 Kb) is a gray, 1.14mm thick, medium-density foam tape that combines good conformability

and strength. The acrylic foam core is viscoelastic, allowing it to stretch and release under load, significantly reducing stress on the adhesive layer.

3M AFT 5344 uses two different adhesives – one on each side of the tape – for effective bonding.

The adhesive on the release liner side bonds to automotive paint surfaces, while the adhesive on the non-release liner side bonds to exterior trim parts.

Product performance depends on actual application conditions, so users should evaluate whether the 3M product is suitable for their specific

materials and application methods.

The 3M brand red release liner allows for easy, one-piece removal, improving application efficiency.

3M recommends using a 3M™ adhesion promoter to enhance the bond of 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5344 to various types of substrates,

especially for reaction injection molded parts, thermoplastic polyolefins, polyphenylene ethers, polypropylene, and polycarbonate plastics.
