3M Acrylic Foam Tape 4229P

3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4229P is an automotive body attachment tape that provides strong performance and shear strength for bonding 

trim and components to painted surfaces in automotive applications. Its dark gray, closed-cell 0.76 mm thick acrylic foam core provides 

stress relaxation under high loads, helping to ensure long-term durability and maintaining an aesthetically pleasing bond line under normal loads.

3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4229P features two different adhesives, one on each side, specifically designed for effective bonding on automotive surfaces. 

The adhesive on the liner side provides high initial and ultimate adhesion to rigid clear coat systems and paints. The adhesive on the non-liner 

side works well with adhesion promoters on plastics and other common automotive trim materials. The viscoelastic foam core conforms well 

even to complex geometries. This automotive trim adhesive exhibits excellent resistance to plasticizers. For all parts, especially plastic parts 

such as reaction injection molded (RIM), thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO), polyphenylene oxide (PPO), polypropylene (PP), and polycarbonate (PC), 

3M™ Automotive Adhesion Promoters can be used to enhance the bond between the tape and the part.
